Slowing Down with the New Moon In Taurus

As we welcome in the energy of the New Moon in Taurus this week we are hopefully feeling a bit more steady and stable now that Eclipse season is behind us.

Taurus connects us with what brings us balance and what nourishes us. It is grounding and focuses on stability.

But, before we can find that space, the energy of Uranus sweeps in to shake things up by asking us to get clear on what that actually means for us.

For many of us, we are noticing the things that used to give us a sense of stability aren't quite having the same effect they used to. We realize that in some ways we are disconnected from ourselves and what is actually working for us.

We have been living alongside social media for so long - many of us for as long as we can remember.

Don't get me wrong: I enjoy social media and reality TV. But we have to realize it brings us into the curated versions of people's lives and moments. This can create a false sense of intimacy with the people we are watching and learning from, and lead to a disconnection from ourselves.

We are constantly watching other people's lives so frequently that we actually believe we know them. When these people share these curated snapshots, we fill in the blanks ourselves, further solidifying our perception of their perfection.

And from there we start to judge our lives and feel like we don't  measure up.

We think that because we see these people happy doing whatever it is that makes them happy, that we will also be happy doing the same. We can forget that even when they show us those “instagram vs reality” posts, it's still curated.

This can lead to us losing our connection to our own unique blueprint, because the line between ourselves and the media we are consuming gets blurred.

Luckily, the New Moon in Taurus serves up an opportunity for us to get quiet, slow down and tap into what works and what does not work for US.

We are asked to look at the things in our lives and notice what we already have that truly makes us feel good and nourished, and create more of that. It also means noticing the things that do the opposite and changing those things. (Uranus can help shake up those things so that they fall away)

This may bring with it some changes we didn't really want, but it's important to remember that ultimately it is the changes we have needed.

This is a very slow moving, earthly sign, which reminds us that we don't need to rush towards the things we discover.

We can mindfully and sustainably create new pathways forward.

I am so passionate about working with the Moons because being in constant conversation with ourselves helps us make conscious choices.

This Moon asks us to listen to ourselves, and get intentional about what it is that we want to create with our lives, how we want to feel, and the path we want to take.

Without intentionality, we get stuck on autopilot, which keeps us locked into old patterns, thoughts, and behaviors that stopped working for us a long time ago.

When we really understand our true desires, it becomes much easier to create them.

And the energy of this Moon is here to help us create the life that is meant for us - not the life that someone else is living.
